About
Kim graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales and trained and qualified as a general surgeon, with subspecialty interests in colorectal and robotic surgery, in Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Kim’s clinical practice encompasses colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and anorectal pathology. She collaborates with endogynaecology and urogynaecology specialists to manage endometriosis and pelvic floor conditions.
As a pioneering robotic colorectal surgeon, Kim has performed over 1000 cases on Intuitive’s da Vinci and Medtronic’s Hugo RAS systems. This makes her one of Australia’s most experienced robotic colorectal surgeons. Kim is one of a select group of surgeons who perform robotic surgery on multiple platforms. As a proctor and educator, she helps train surgeons in robotic techniques across Australia and Southeast Asia.
Kim is a conjoint professor of surgery at the University of New South Wales. Passionate about teaching, she has been honoured with awards from the University of New South Wales and the Academy of Surgical Educators of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons for her contributions to medical education. Kim is an Examiner to the Court of General Surgery.
Kim is actively involved in research and has been an invited speaker at numerous scientific meetings. Kim's research collaborations in Lynch syndrome have led to the NSW Premier's Award for Excellence in Translational Cancer Research.
Kim has appointments at St George Public and Private Hospitals and consults at Kogarah and Hurstville.
